Project 365 day one hundred and five 15/4/11 the smell of bonfires

It must be in the genes, my dad would burn anything for an excuse to have a bonfire normally once or twice a week. As a boy there is an infatuation with bonfires that you never grow out of. You can stare at the flames and watch them dance, throwing small glowing cinders into the air, the crackle of wood and branches as it splits under the heat, the sizzling of tree sap as it boils in its bark container. But for me its the smell I love the smell of a bonfire.

This shot was taken with a high ISO 1600 and then I removed the digital noise using Adobe Lightroom and decreased the clarity. The only lighting was from the dying flames of the bonfire.
